Heirloom.
An heirloom from 1865 that is still popular. Plant features long pure white roots that in shape resemble an icicle. Long 1-6 inch quick growing roots are white crisp and mild with bright green and crisp tops. It is a bit on the warm side with a great fresh flavor that is excellent eaten fresh, in salads, in stir frys, as a garnish, and more. It is a good quality radish. It is a heat tolerant radish. It prefers full sun but will grow in the shade. An excellent choice!
Sowing: Direct sow in early spring and again in mid to late summer. Sow into well cultivated soil 1/2 inch deep. Keep moist during germination. Keep cool and moist to help prevent it running to seed.

Information: Can succession sow every couple of weeks for continuous harvest. Stop planting when the weather gets too warm. Begin again once the weather cools off for a fall harvest. Radishes are a cool weather crop and do best in cooler weather. For best results, harvest on time. Begin harvest 3-4 weeks after planting. To be mild tender and attractive they should be grown rapidly with plenty of moisture. If left toolong the roots may become hot, tough, and pithy.
