An All American Selections winner in 1935, Straight 8 features perfectly straight fruits with dark green smooth skin and crisp white flesh. Cylindrical 6-8 inch fruits with small seed cavity and fine crisp flesh. An excellent slicing variety. A long time favorite with sweet and mild, taste. Excellent flavor. Early and prolific. Very vigorous and heavy yielding. Good for in the home garden. Resists cucumber mosiac virus. Remarkably uniform. Reliable!
Sowing: Plant in full sun outdoors in spring when all danger of frost and temperature is up to 65 degrees F. Sow seeds 1/2-1 inch deep in well drained soil in full sun. Keep seed bed moderately moist during germination. Or start indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost.
