Plants produce high quality tender crisp 11-12 inch stalks on plants that reach 30 inches. Tall medium green celery with long thick stalks are sweet and smooth crisp and tasty. Excellent fresh as celery sticks and in salad. It is also great juiced, or cooked in various recipes. An early and disease resistant celery that is slow to bolt. Holds it’s form and color very well in the garden. This variety does not require blanching. Celery grown at home is very sweet and crunchy!
Sowing: Start seeds inside and transplant outside in the spring. Cover seeds lightly, press into soil with potting medium and keep evenly moist but not wet. It germs slowly, sometimes 30 days. In hot summer areas and short growing seasons it is recommended to sow indoors 3-4 months before planting outside. Transplant when plants are at least 6 inches tall around average last frost date, hardening off first.

Information: Celery grows best in climates with long moderate and temperate seasons but can grow in most places with proper care. Celery is intolerant of high temperatures or prolonged temperatures below around 55 degrees F. Apply mulch around base of plant to maintain moisture. Requires a lot of water. Avoid over watering. Apply mulch to the base of plant to help retain moisture. You can begin to harvested at any stage. Can cut stalks to ground level and leave the roots in the ground for compost.
